FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about our product range, installation and everyday care.

Electric models heat water with a thermostat-controlled electric element only. Hybrid models add a solar circuit that does most of the heating work whenever sunshine is available, with the electric element switching in automatically as a backup — so hot water never stops while electricity use goes down.

In heat exchanger (closed-loop) models, the solar circuit runs through a sealed internal coil instead of mixing with the domestic water. This keeps scale out of the solar circuit in hard-water regions and allows antifreeze fluid to be used in cold climates.

Yes. Every tank has an enamel-coated inner surface that protects the steel against corrosion, plus a protective anode. For regions with very hard water we usually recommend the heat exchanger series, whose closed solar loop stays scale-free — and regular anode checks by a technician extend tank life even further.

The range covers vertical models for wall or floor mounting, horizontal models for low ceilings and tight spaces, and large floor-standing tanks for project-scale central systems.

The right capacity depends on household size, usage habits and — for hybrid systems — your local climate. Rather than guessing from a table, our team will size the system for your exact situation. Simply request a quote and we'll advise you free of charge.

As a general rule, a periodic inspection by a qualified technician keeps the system safe and efficient: checking the protective anode, the safety valve and the thermostat settings. The ideal interval depends on your local water quality — your installer can recommend a schedule for your region.

Care & Safety

Maintenance tips

Simple habits that keep your SOLARIX system safe, efficient and long-lived. All service work should be performed by qualified technicians.

Have the anode checked periodically

The protective anode shields the inner tank against corrosion. Have a technician inspect it periodically and replace it when worn — it is the single most effective way to extend tank life.

Keep thermostat settings moderate

Very high set temperatures increase standby losses and scale build-up. A moderate setting delivers comfortable hot water while saving energy and protecting the tank.

Test the pressure relief valve

The safety valve protects the tank against excess pressure. Have it checked during routine service visits to confirm it opens and closes correctly.

Book professional servicing

Periodic professional service — heating element, connections, seals — keeps efficiency high and catches small issues before they become failures. Never open the electrical compartment yourself.

Take winter precautions

In cold climates, protect exposed pipework and, for closed-loop solar systems, make sure the antifreeze fluid is checked before winter. Ask your installer about frost protection for your specific setup.

Safety first: disconnect the power supply before any intervention, and leave all electrical or plumbing work to qualified professionals.
